Lions of Al-Rassan

Just finished it.

I'm crying.

I think that just about covers it.

I'll be home in an hour, I hope. I'll call. We'll sob.

That poem kills me every time.

Cruising by on friendsfriends and saw this... just wanted to congratulate you. It's my favorite book; I have *two* thoroughly battered copies and re-read it at least once a year.

This is the library's copy, but I plan to buy it as soon as possible.

I hope that you're satisfied. I have reserved it at the library at your suggestion. Now I shall have yet another book to read, preventing me from going out into the world and making friends.

I blame my continued isolation upon you. ;)

Yesss! The recommendation spreads until the whole (literate) world shall know its greatness!

I remember the tears in my eyes when I finished it. *sniffle* Kay is not one for unambiguously happy endings, is he? I cried at the end of Song for Arbonne too...

Oh God, yes. The man rips out his reader's hearts, and we love him for it.

*adds to reading list*

Actually, I prefer A Song for Arbonne, which you must try if you haven't already - it's my favourite of his standalones. It's just beautiful.

Arbonne was the first GGK I ever read, and I think it probably is my favourite of all of them. Of course, one of my favourite areas of study was Medieval France, so that's not altogether surprising.

Although Al-Rassan is probably tied with Tigana for second place.
