SNOW!

It's. So. Pretty.

A pain in the arse, and I expect to spend much of the day complaining about it, but at the moment, so pretty!

Plus, I hear snow in Oxford is one of those things that Never Happens™, so the camera goes with me to rehearsal today.

Yes - I remember so many times when it snowed for my parents in the Midlands, and sometimes even in London, and somehow managed to miss out Oxford in the middle (although I did once have to cycle through a blizzard to give a seminar talk about Ovid and turned up ten minutes late like the abominable snowman) so do take out the camera! I shall be too, as it looks amazing here as well. Though for the moment I am under the duvet with a cup of tea...

Oh, my friend who teaches at a school in Oxford was talking about a production of OT she was planning to take her girls to, so I asked who was directing it & it was yours!

Eeep! And I thought my housemates would be the only people in the audience...so much for that. ;)

Although I hear horrible rumours about Oxford theatre critics, namely the ones who will be coming to preview the performance this weekend, so I hope they're nicer than I'm dreading.

As for the snow, it's still going fairly strong, and I'm headed to the library soonish...once I can bring myself to brave the cold. But at least I know I'll get pretty photos out of it.

It _is_ lovely, isn't it? (About to have to walk home to meet removal quote bloke, so I may change my mind).

Yay snow! Cambridge is gorgeous today too. :-D

Ok, so I JUST realized the Oedipus Tyrannos invite you sent me was in Oxford and not Cambridge. And I was thinking I should drag my friends, and I would have been trying to find this place, and HAHAHAA.

Sometimes, I wonder how they let me into grad school. ::snerk::

It's just before 2nd papers are due, so it's highly unlikely I'll make it. Now I'm bummed!

[identity profile] lareinenoire.livejournal.com 2007-02-08 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww, I'm at least glad you were thinking about it! Your second papers are due already? Wow. When I was doing my M.Phil., ours weren't due till March...

Though the thought of your wandering around Cambridge in search of Christ Church College is more than a little hilarious. ;)

[identity profile] ladyshrew.livejournal.com 2007-02-08 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I know! I giggled when I realized I would have been searching for something that didn't exist!

And yeah, second papers due end of Feb. I think that's b/c they want us to get cracking on our third papers and then the thesis. It also sounds like they may have redone the schedule this year and pushed up 2nd and 3rd paper due dates.

Highly jealous

You have snow and I don't. :(

Take lots of pictures for me, please.

When is OT on? I would like to come and see it.

Tuesday and Wednesday of 6th week (20 and 21 February) at 8:15 PM. Sadly no advance tickets, but they're £3 for students at the door. I'd suggest coming early, as seating is a bit limited.

enjoy the snow........

actually, I detest it. I'm a Spring/summer fan:)
