And today...was a very good day.

I will be getting my PhD. Come Hell or high water.

Because today, I received not one, but *two* acceptances. One from University of Exeter, and the other from University of Reading (who, incidentally, rejected me two years ago). I am completely feeling the UK love.

And, to top it off, I've been accepted to the Disjunctions conference at UC Riverside in April, where I get to present a paper on Neil Gaiman.

(A paper I now need to write)

But hey, it's all good. Because I'm getting a PhD!

I happen to live about 20 minutes away from there, and would love to come to the conference (only to see you, of course - Neil Gaiman holds absolutely no interest for me (he says, as he trips over the complete set of Sandman TPBs & Neverwhere)), if it's open to the public.

Failing that, we should still hang out if you get a free evening/day.

I imagine it should be open to the public, but I'm not sure. I'll let you know once I've got more details -- same too for how long I'll be there.
