Well, the short version of the Opinion is that the ending of S2 always strikes me (after I get done crying) as being at odds with the themes of the season. Every adventure that Ten and Rose have seems to be trying to tell her that "forever" with the Doctor is impossible; eventually you'll wind up like Reinette or Sarah Jane, and the important thing is how you handle that. And instead of taking those lessons to heart and realizing that someday she'll have to leave the Doctor, she just ignores them and clings harder. So the ending of "Doomsday" is really sad, but it's also very passive as far as Rose is concerned; it's not the outcome of any choice that she made.
