I'm writing this from my new desk.

I've so missed having a desk. The last one I had was in Cambridge, and we simply didn't have the space until now.

It has a drawer! And shelves! And one of those handy little keyboard drawers even though I don't have a keyboard!

(I daresay this only proves how silly I am, to get this excited over a desk.)

Oooh, that is a nice desk! And getting excited about silly things is so much fun - I got my first vacuum cleaner for Christmas last year, and for months, every time I used it I called my mom to tell her how much I LOVED it. **rolls eyes at self**

My desk is on loan from a family friend, on stilts that my boyfriend made because it was too short, and has three paltry desk drawers. And I love it.

I can see being excited about a desk. It provides a sense of place, you know?

Funny - I felt ridiculously excited in moving here to find I had a table and not a desk! Glad you feel just as pleased for the opposite reason.
